ASLSKのシナリオ S7: Prelude to Festung Brestについての裏話。CSW ASLSKフォルダーへの Laurent Closierの書き込みの引用。Laurent Closierは La Franc Tieurのメンバーの一人だったと思います。超人ハルクのアバターを使っています。そして問題の S7のシナリオデザイナーでもあります。

Sorry if I am late to answer about this topic.


In June 22, 2004 I sent the following email to Brian Youse:


" Hi Brian,


Here is the final (ie, ready for playtets) version of this scenario. I will send you the intro/aftermath in english (!) on/before friday. Is it OK with your release date ?

... with the following file (see below).


As you can see, my original design used board y. Now, if MMP unvoluntarily changed the board reference and did all their playtests with a wrong board, the result is a balanced game on a "non-historical" geo-board. Not a big deal for me on this scenario. I can easily understand why they do not want to change it. What I don't understand is the aggressive answers by Ken Dunn ".. you can play on any board you wish...", "we are right, all others are wrong".


To conclude, this is not an issue. Keep move on and have fun .

要するに公式の S7は手違いからデザイナーの意図したマップとは異なるマップでプレイされていると。にもかかわらずバランスの良いシナリオになっていました、というオチ。ちゃんとボード yでもプレイしてみたくなった。ボード zでプレイする S7は確かに面白い。これは単なる偶然の産物？まあ、名作シナリオって程度の差はあれデザイナーの手の届かないところでの神のいたずらによるマジックで味付けされているのだと思っていますが。
